The Wandering Chocoholic

Fiji briefly

Stopped over briefly in the Fiji airport on the way to Auckland. I was only outside for a few moments but it was stifling hot. Highlights of the 3-hour stopover included seeing the sunrise out of the plane window as we landed, the interesting shops in the terminal, and the local musicians that greeted us with cheerful music (and a tip jar). Lowlights were the 45-minute long lineup to check in and have our bags screened for any potentially harmful agricultural agent that could upset the delicate ecosystems of either Fiji or New Zealand. Seeing only the airport, I don’t have much to say about Fiji, but I would like to go back for real one day.
