Hey all, this is just a quick update from Zagreb. The train from Sarajevo yesterday took ten hours and had no air, and it was unbelievably hot and sticky. I was thrilled to arrive here and find my hostel with its nice modern shower. Ahhh, the creature comforts.
Zagreb is nice enough, though not particularly exciting. Being the capital of Croatia, Zagreb is overrun with museums and galleries. I visited the Arts and Crafts Museum today, which had an temporary exhibit on Croatian advertising. Considering the fact that Croatia was Communist for half a century, the exhibit was really interesting. I also walked around the upper town and visited the Cathedral, currently being renovated. The weather is still really hot so I’m back onto siesta schedule (in other words, find air conditioning at midday). Hopefully Slovenia will be a bit cooler, since it’s really been stifling these past few days.
Not much else to write about Zagreb. Boo to Edmonton for losing to Carolina, and boo to Carolina for being wholly undeserving Stanley Cup champs. Later!
