To anyone who loves babies and small children: You might reconsider that after 8 hours on a plane with a dozen of them all screeching, screaming and crying nonstop. It was the Symphonée aux bébés, in full stereo surround sound. I should’ve known better than to fly Air Transat, the “family-friendly” budget airline, but I couldn’t resist the temptation of a direct flight. Oh well.
Overall, it was a fantastic trip, marred only by being too short. Belgium is a great country to tour, and I was so happy to have had the opportunity to make La Grande Visite. A great big thank you to Marie and Yannic, for being the most awesome hosts, chauffeurs, self-appointed tour guides, and fellow tourists that anyone could ask for!
So now I’m home, back to mundane details like laundry and grocery shopping and clearing out a week’s worth of email from my inbox. On the other hand, there’s souvenir chocolate to be distributed and enjoyed, photos to share, and stories to tell. And once that’s done, of course, there will always be a next trip to plan.
